Schroeder, Mary Louise (Cummings)

Mary Louise Schroeder passed away on March 18, 2017. She was born in Glendive, MT on January 15, 1933, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel Cummings. When she was a young child the family moved to Great Falls, MT, where she graduated from Great Falls High School. She attended Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane, WA and graduated in 1954.

She worked as a nurse for over 30 years in several Doctor’s offices, most of that with Dr. Bruce Evans.

She married Richard Schroeder on October 2, 1954, a blessed union of over 62 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Colton Torzewski. She is survived by her husband and seven children, Leslie Kueffler (Gary), Kevin Schroeder (Carol), Joe Schroeder (Natalie), Lori Schroeder, Mary K. Torzewski (Ted), Christine Overbust (Scott), Lynn Read (Dan), 20 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, her sister, Jeri Kaste (Bill-deceased), a brother, Robert Cummings (Judy) and many nephews and nieces.

She was a devout wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was very kind hearted and always there for anyone in need of help or care. Mary was loved and appreciated by her many friends. She loved to spend time at their cabin on Deer Lake. She was a good water skier and enjoyed floating in the lake on warm, sunny days. She was a lifelong Catholic, a member of Assumption Parish for over 50 years. Her Faith was a very important part of her life. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 2-7PM at Hennessey Funeral Home & Crematory, 2203 North Division. A vigil will be held March 31, 2017 at 5PM. Funeral Mass will be April 1, 2017 at 11AM. Both services will be held at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 3624 West Indian Trail Road Spokane, Washington 99208. A Reception will be held at the parish hall following the Mass. 

Memorial contributions can be made to Caritas Outreach Ministries and The Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.
