Viola (Vi) Marie Kensok was born on June 5, 1924 in Lewiston Idaho to George & Lena Hasenoehrl. She passed away on June 18, 2017.  Vi was the third of eleven children and was raised on a farm in Culdesac, Idaho. She graduated from Marycliff High School and attended Northwest Business College. She married Bruno Kensok on Sept 7, 1946.  Vi worked as a secretary for a year for an insurance company, 18 years for Silver-loaf Bakery and 3 years at Safeway's bakery. Later, while in her 50’s, she and Bruno worked at the Immaculate Heart Retreat House in Spokane. Vi helped her husband teach square and round dancing for many years. She enjoyed making rosaries and bracelets and loved to garden and embroider. Vi went camping almost every summer with her family & friends. She retired from work at 62 years, then volunteered, with her husband and her friend Jo Lee, for 20 more years, making boxes for the poor at St. Vincent De Paul.
She is survived by her children: Steve (Kim )Kensok of Elk, WA, Gloria (Larry)Peterson of Spokane, Joan (John) Milano of Portland, OR. and Debby (Wynn) Stallcop of Pomeroy, WA.; 14 grandchildren & 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruno, and her brothers Frances, Leo, and Kenneth.
There will be a visitation at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 330 East Boone Avenue Spokane, Washington.
