Evelyn A Lappano

March 16, 1926 ~ September 22, 2021 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Tribute

Evelyn passed away on September 22nd at the age of 95. She was born and raised in Northport, WA then moved to Spokane after high school to work at Fairchild Air Force Base where she met her husband, Sam. They had been married for 62 years when he passed away in 2010.

While raising 5 children, she worked from home as a typist for an insurance agent until the children were grown at which time she went to work for the Spokane School District 81 as a Teacher’s Aide where she retired after 17 years. She loved working with the children and her grandkids can attest to the fact that she was amazing at making learning math and reading fun for them by teaching them math card games and chicken foot dominos. And of course, rewarding them with all of her delicious homemade treats. She was a wonderful baker and cook.

She was a long-time parishioner of St Francis of Assisi and involved in the Women’s Club and Our Lady Queen Guild. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, watching sports and going to all of her kids’ and grandkids’ various sporting events, dance and music recitals.

She always put family first as demonstrated by her continuing to be a source of strength and support for all of her family whenever needed. Her beautiful smile was seen often as she loved to laugh all the way up to her final days. She will be deeply missed but will remain close to our hearts forever.

She is survived by her sons, Mike (Judi) and Tim (Sandi); daughters, Sheryl (Richard) Clark, Kris (Mike) Hare, and Katie Lappano; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 2nd at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, located at 4420 N Jefferson.
