Joy Marie Gannaway

Joy Marie Gannaway, 79, of Colbert, WA passed away on July 22nd 2021 from her battle with dementia and parkinsons. She was surrounded by loved ones at her home in Colbert. She was born in Lyons, Nebraska on Jan. 15th, 1942. Joy graduated from Potlatch High School in 1960. She was married to Joe Gannaway on Sept. 10th, 1964 at The Hitching Post, and renewed their vows in a Catholic church in 1969. Joy had many hobbies including leatherworking and beading which she enjoyed doing with her granddaughters. She was a 'Jill of all trades', as she enjoyed fishing for salmon & sturgeon, being nicknamed the 'camp master' as she always had anything one could need for camping, and holding the family title as best trap shooter. She knew how to have fun and was well known for instigating water fights-even in the house! Joy will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was survived by her loving husband Joe, children Patrick, Pamela, Leslie and wife, and her brother Ardell and family. Her grandchildren Tara, Adell, Mark & Alisha. Her great-grandchildren Isabella, Silas, Tobias, Kamryn, Kendra and Mica. She was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Alice Best, her brother Dale, and sister Geraldine.
