Julie Sylvia Johnson

May 23, 1934 ~ November 22, 2022 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Tribute

Our beloved, Julie S. Johnson (LaLone), went to be with our Lord on November 22, 2022, in Spokane, WA. She was 88 years old.

Julie was born in Spokane, WA to Dwight LaLone and Agusta Dibble Lalone on May 23, 1934. She was the second of 6 children, Jeanne, Janet, Jill, Lance, and Thomas. She grew up on Spokane's South Hill and attended Holy Names Academy.

Julie had a 28 year career in the telephone industry, working at Pacific Northwest Bell Telephone Company as a Telephone Operator and Office Administrator.

She married Lester Grebe and was the mother to three wonderful boys, David, Daniel, and Donald. They grew up in a farming area, Garden Springs, near Spokane, where she raised them on several acres. She later married Louis Johnson where they spent many years adventuring and enjoying the lake life at Sacheen Lake, WA. At the lake, she enjoyed all 4 seasons, and would regularly hike, canoe, swim, and snowmobile. She also enjoyed time with her grandchildren, Matthew, Alec, and Jared. Julie was very proud of the family she raised.

Julie lit up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She was a joyful presence with her colorful clothes, beautiful hair, creative fashion choices, and joyful personality. She loved spending time with family, friends and always enjoyed a good game of Mahjong. She was an active member of her church, had good friends in the Telephone Pioneers, and her group of Ladies of the Lake.

When she moved back to Spokane, she had good friends and spent several good years at Touchmark Retirement Community, where she was a fixture among the community, and loved dearly.

She is greeted peacefully in eternity by father, Dwight, mother, Augusta, sister, Jill, brother, Tom, and husband, Lou. She is survived by her brother, Lance; sisters Jeanne and Janet; her sons, David (Patti), Daniel (Tammy), and Donald; grandsons, Matthew (Lindsey), Alec (Randi), and Jared (MaKayla Smith); great-grandchildren, Hunter and Madison.

There will be a celebration of life on Thursday December 15, 10:00 am at St. Peters Catholic Church in Spokane, WA, with reception to follow. Julie's friends and family are invited to share happy memories and celebrate her life in the way she would want to be remembered - as a loving and caring woman who loved life.
