Tribute

Katherine Lindstrom, 17, of Deer Park, Washington passed away September 6, 2021 at home with her parents by her side.

Katherine was in a car accident on June 20, 2020. She suffered a severe traumatic brain injury and a subsequent major stroke due to her injuries. She was at Sacred Heart Hospital for six weeks. From there Katherine went to Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she spent over three months. At Madonna, Katherine worked hard doing 4-6 therapies daily, 5 days a week. Katherine came home on November First and by Thanksgiving weekend we saw her smile for the first time since the accident.

Katherine’s days at home were filled with Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapies, as well as Doctor appointments and Hyperbaric Treatments. Katherine never gave up working as hard as she was capable.

Katherine loved Jesus and enjoyed going to church, being involved in Youth Group and serving in the nursery. Her favorite pastimes were reading, hiking, swimming, camping, writing, playing guitar, and she loved playing volleyball and tennis.

Katherine was a loyal friend who cared deeply for others, she enjoyed deep conversations, and it was a family joke that dinner time wasn’t complete until she tried to drink water and choked on it every time.

Katherine went on a mission’s trip to Bethel Orphanage her Freshman year of High School and felt God had placed a call on her life to be a missionary. In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Katherine, contributions can be made to Bethel Orphanage. You can donate on line at www.suncrestworship.com go to the Give tab, then missions, and comment, “in the memory of Katherine Lindstrom”.
