Larry Andrew Peterson was born November 6, 1947 in Chewelah, WA to Frank and Katherine Peterson. Larry was the youngest of four children and was raised at a fish hatchery in Ford, WA. He attended a small 3 room schoolhouse. After the death of his father he moved to Spokane with his mother. He graduated from Rogers High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corp and served in the Vietnam War. He lived the Marine Corp Motto "Semper Fi" (Always Faithful). On return home from the military after serving two years, he attended EWU where he met his future wife Gloria. He graduated in 1972. Right after graduation he married Gloria on February 23rd. Larry worked for the Department of Fish and Wildlife, eventually settling in Mossyrock, WA in 1983 where their four daughters were raised and attended school. After the girls graduated from High School, they returned to Spokane for Larry to finish up his 40 year career in the Department and retire. Larry had a great love for the outdoors as a fisherman, hunter and camper. He shared that love with his brother Darrell and daughters. Larry was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was humble, selfless and there was nothing he would not do for someone in need. He loved spending time with his family, watching Jeopardy, doing Crossword Puzzles and reading. He had a strong faith in God. He was a quiet man with a beautiful smile, whose final gift to his family was the donation of his organs to give life to three other families. Larry passed away on January 3, 2019 after a four year battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. Larry is survived by his wife Gloria: his four daughters Michelle (Chris) Miller; Marie (Kevin) Kirchner, Jennifer (Rankin) Peterson, and Kimberly (Jeremy) Moran; six grandchildren, two sisters Doris Abrahamson. Linda Weatbrook and his brother Darrell Peterson. A funeral mass will be held for Larry at St. Thomas More Catholic Church on Saturday 1/12/2019 at 10:00 AM. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at Holy Cross Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to: House of Charity care of Catholic Charities of Eastern Washington at P.O.
