Margie passed at home on May 11th, 2022 and is now pain free after suffering a four year battle with sarcoidosis of the spinal cord. Her husband Mike of 32 years was by her side.
Margie was born on April 24th, 1950, to Margaret and James Maguire in Spokane WA. She attended St Augustine's elementary school, graduated from Lewis and Clark high school and attended Western Washington State College. She was employed with School District 81 working in the personnel department and later worked as paraprofessional in the libraries at Logan and Lidgerwood elementary schools. Margie ended her career working at Gonzaga University Law Library in acquisitions until retiring in 2011.
After Mike and Margie got married Mike's job with Kaiser Aluminum took them to Ghana West Africa where they spent almost 8 years. Margie enjoyed that opportunity which allowed her to travel the world. While in Ghana she became an avid golfer and tennis player. Once back in the states she continued to enjoy traveling within the United States. Margie also enjoyed all types of needle work and was excellent at cross stitch.
Margie is survived by her husband Mike, stepchildren Jason (Chrissy) Brickner, Boise, ID. Tiffany Spear, Spokane, WA, brothers Steve (Gwen) Maguire, Dave (Susan) Maguire, Chuck (Susan) Maguire, step grandchildren Gabriel, Bella and Ava Brickner and Camden, Delaney and Addison Spear, numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother James Maguire and sister- in- law Phyllis Maguire.
Services will be held at Hennessey Funeral Home 2203 N Division at 11 A M on 5/23/2022. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the cancer society.
