Mark Allen Fenter

July 6, 1959 ~ September 23, 2022 (age 63) 63 Years Old

Tribute

On Friday September 23rd 2022, Mark, beloved husband, father, papa and brother passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Mark was born on July 6th, 1959 to Marjorie and Calvin Fenter in Portland, OR. He was the youngest of 5 children and loved playing sports. His father's career with the Union Pacific Railroad relocated the family many times to Washington State, Oregon and finally Oklahoma where he graduated from Tulsa Memorial High School in Tulsa, OK. He then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University.
After graduating he moved back to Spokane, WA where much of his family resided. This also allowed him to water ski at his family's lake cabin on Lake Coeur D' Alene, one of his favorite activities. He then returned to school at Spokane Community College and obtained his Associate in Applied Science for Cardio-Pulmonary Technology. This is where he met the love of his life, his wife of 35 years, Teresa Taylor and they were married in November of 1987.
With his new degree, he got a job at Deaconess Medical Center and became the manager of vascular services. His accomplishments in the cath lab eventually led him to a very successful career as a sales representative for a number of medical technology companies in Eastern Washington. He finally retired in 2021 to spend more time with his beloved family.
Mark loved to golf, watch college football and was a long time season ticket holder for Gonzaga Men's Basketball. However, his favorite thing was watching his middle daughter, Ali, play Division I soccer for Washington State University and he spent many years traveling the country to see her games.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents: Marjorie and Calvin and father-in-law: Daniel. He is survived by wife: Teresa; son: Joseph; daughters: Laura (Kyle) and Alison (Benjamin); his brothers: David and Steven; sisters: Deborah and Theresa; 3 grandchildren: Sienna, Paul and Jude.
We will miss his constant jokes, generous nature and most of all the love he showed everyone around him. His grandchildren were his greatest joy and he spent almost everyday the last years of his life playing with them. Mark would literally give you the shirt off his back and always told his children how proud he was of them. Mark's passing is a tragic loss to all who knew him but the foundation he laid for those around him and the lessons he taught will never be forgotten. We are so proud to call him our dad and papa and although his passing comes with a heavy heart we know we will see him again.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 14th at 2:00 PM at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N Division St. Spokane, Wa 99207. His ashes will be scattered by his immediate family at a later time.
