Matthew was born in Spokane, Washington on September 9, 1981 to Sandra L. Seep-Hurand and Thomas J. Seep. He passed away January 18, 2023 at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, at the age of 41. As a child Matthew grew up in Cheney Washington and attended school in Cheney. He graduated from Cheney High School in 2000. He moved to Spokane shortly after graduation.
He continued his education at Spokane Community College graduating from the Culinary Arts program in 2003. Following graduation he went to work for several local restaurants in the Spokane area, Rock City Grill, the Spokane Club and the most recently the Two Seven Public House.
His passion was cooking and baking. He liked to cook and eat Asian food the most. He liked cooking for friends and family and trying new recipes. He loved baking and surprising his friends with birthday cakes. Cheesecake was one of his favorites.
Baseball was his favorite sport. The Seattle Mariners and the Spokane Indians were his teams. He and his Mom would make annual trips to Seattle to watch Mariners games. He became an avid Gonzaga basketball fan with some persuasion from his Mom.
Matthew enjoyed traveling. Hawaii was his favorite vacation as an adult. He also enjoyed the Oregon coast, Disneyland & Disney World. Closer to home he liked going to Leavenworth for long weekends to enjoy the food and shopping.
Matthew is survived by his parents Thomas and Sandra and many cousins, aunts and uncles. He also leaves behind his two cats Mikey and Lola. They were his babies. He will be deeply missed and forever loved by those he left behind. He will always have a special place in our hearts. He left his place on earth far too young.
There will be no funeral services held at his request but a celebration of life will be held in his honor for family and friends at a later date. Burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
