Peggy L. Orth

Tribute

Peggy Orth fell into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 13th, 2018. Her loving family surrounded her after a short battle with cancer.

Peggy was born to Donald and Margaret (Cooper) Moore on August, 26th 1936 in Spokane Washington.

She graduated from North Central High School and received an Associated Arts degree from Eastern Washington University.

In April of 1955 she married Thomas J. Orth and together raised six children.

During her lifetime Peggy did many things for different organizations. She was part of the drill team at Eagles Lodge Aerie Number 2, and was involved in Catholic United of the Faith.

Peggy was very involved in political campaigns of various kinds, and volunteered her time for many things such as a respite care giver for Hospice of Spokane and rosary making for The Rosary Makers for the Catholic school children of Spokane and foreign missions.

In her early her 60s, she went to Calcutta, India and worked along-side Mother Teresa at the Monica House where she volunteered her time to help orphans, the poor and the sick. She was there for four months.

In her early 70s, Peggy went to Jerusalem to visit the Holy Land.

She is survived by her sister Carolee (Mike) Smith, brother Denis (Marilyn)Moore, sister-in-law Margaret Moore and children; Terri Ann (Dan)Chott, Jerry (Therese) Orth, Michele (Tim) Peterson, Monica (Floyd) Larson, and Timothy Orth along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by Thomas J. Orth, her son Thomas M. Orth, her parents, brothers Donald, Terry, Ron, sisters Gail, and Donna.

 

Visitation from 12:00-4:00pm and Rosary 4:00-5:00pm Tuesday 12/18 at Hennessey 2203 N. Division Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am Wednesday 12/19 at Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral, 1115 W. Riverside. Officiating funeral services are Father Connell and Father Savelesky.

 

Special Acknowledgements: Hospice of Spokane, The Peterson’s and Peggy’s children as well as her family for the caregiving she received. All of the extended family and friends who came and visited mom.

Special thanks to Father Darrin Connell, Father Mike Savelesky, Sister Sharon Bongiorno and Father Kyle Ratuiste for their spiritual support and guidance.
