Rhonda Joan Springer

Rhonda was born in Spokane Washington on January 15,1950 and passed away March 11, 2018 surrounded by the people that loved her.  She was the 3rd child of 8 born to Harold and Eleanor Springer.  Although Rhonda was born with some special challenges, this never stopped her from seeing the positive in everything that came her special way.  In 1956 at the age of Six (6) Rhonda moved into Lakeland Village in Medical Lake WA, for the opportunity to receive therapies and life long skills. In 1984 Rhonda moved back to Spokane to a group home on the lower south hill with The Arc of Spokane where she lived until 2002.  She lived there until they relocated her and three of her roommates to the North side of Spokane. Rhonda loved to tease and joke with everyone, her smile and laughter would light up the room.  Rhonda had a love for music which she got from her father and enjoyed all types.  Rhonda’s favorite by far though where the 80’s.  Every morning while the staff was helping Rhonda get ready for the day, they would crank up the music and belt out the tunes.   Rhonda’s favorite go-to drink was coffee and would have it anytime she could.  She also loved, loved, loved ice cream. She had a love for Beads and would spend hours at a time stringing them. She also had a great love for fashion and enjoyed showing off anything new she had gotten.  Rhonda was strong willed but had a motherly nature.   She had an extreme love for her family and would enjoy the times when they came over to visit.  She had a special friendship with her roommates Joyce, Adonna and Connie.  Rhonda had amazing connection with the entire staff at ARC Atlantic House, Shannon, Niki, Brittany, Kassondra, Kheri, Jennica, Sylvia, Bukky, Kaylynn, Peggy, Shamarie, Nancy G, Kasandra, Nancy, and Betty. Rhonda is preceded in death by her parents, her older sister Sherry Bliss, her older brother Mark Springer, and her nephew Sean Bliss.  She is survived by her sister Joy Springer, brother Bruce Springer (Anne), brother Alan Springer (Sue), sister Denise Yates, sister Marsha Brown, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday March 16th at 4pm at Hennessey Funeral home located at 2203 N. Division.  Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on Saturday, March 17, 2018.
