Thomas Joseph Pope

          Thomas “Tom” Joseph Pope, a long-life resident of Spokane, WA, passed away on September 21, 2022 at the age of 94, surrounded by his family.

          Born in Spokane, WA on November 12, 1927 to Nick and Gertrude (Bois) Pope, Tom was the youngest of 6 children. He attended Gonzaga Prep; worked and lived his entire life in Spokane. In retirement, Tom and his brothers Pete and Jim worked with Habitat for Humanity by helping to build over 60 homes in the Spokane area. He loved to travel and was an avid reader. He was known for his sense of humor, and his love of family. “Papa” will be missed by all who knew him.

          Tom is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister, two daughters, and two sons. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Bessie, his brother Jim, three children, 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

          Viewing will be held on October 3, 2022 from 2pm to 4pm, and Services will be held on October 4, 2022 at 10:30 am. Both will take place at Hennessy Funeral Home located at 2203 North Division St, Spokane WA 99207. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery located at 7200 North Wall St, Spokane WA 99208.
